Andy Magel, Social Enterprise Director, has worked at MHM since February 2014. He hails from Portland, OR, and holds degrees in Business Administration and Social Science from Warner Pacific College in Portland, OR. Previously he’s worked at homeless shelters, transitional housing programs, and in the public housing system. He most recently ran a job training program in Denver called Bud’s Warehouse, under the umbrella of Belay Enterprises, that employed men and women who were rebuilding lives from prison, addictions, and homelessness. 

 

He brings to his current role experience in the business-as-mission world and an excitement to see lives sustainably changed through employment. What he likes about working at MHM is their willingness to take risks for the betterment of our city and the freedom that gives him to pursue creative opportunities. 

 

Professionally, Andy hopes to see Denver lead the way in creative, employment-focused community development, and he’s honored to play a role in that growth. Personally, he and his wife recently had their first baby, so Andy hopes to be a good dad!
